The Wharehine Group is a privately owned civil contracting and primary resources company established in the North Auckland region. Wholly owned since 1997 by New Zealanders Steve Dodd and     Phillip Schmidt, the company operates eight integrated divisions:

• Construction - Bulk earthworks, roading, stormwater and sanitary sewer drainage, land development, civil site works, bridging, retaining walls, infrastructure projects and construction plant hire.
• Quarries - Extract and process virgin rock material into aggregates for all aspects of construction projects including road construction and maintenance, ready mix concrete, civil site works, drainage and general aggregates, crushed fines, sand and recycled products.
• Ready Mix Concrete - Producers of certified ready mix concrete from standard, high-performance to architectural concrete.
• Transport - Bulk haulage of aggregates and construction products throughout the Auckland/Northland region. Prominent supplier of concrete and roading aggregated to customers from Auckland to Whangarei.
• Landscape -Suppliers of landscape products including aggregates and pavement materials, garden products, rocks, stones, pebbles and shells, plus building supplies. Supplied in all quantities throughout the region from Silverdale to Mangawhai.
• Mechanical - Engineering workshops for fleet machinery and truck maintenance rebuilds, panel beating and painting, welding and fabrication plus a transport and engineering parts retail store.
• Land Development - Large scale subdivision specialists undertaking all aspects of land development including land purchase, consents, project feasibility, design, earthworks, roading, drainage, concrete works, utility services, signage and landscaping.
• Farming - The Group manages and operates two dairy and cattle farms within the Auckland/Northland region.

Wharehine has been in the construction industry since 1955 and has built a reputation, on principles of honesty, hard work, reliability and fairness. They have contributed to many iconic projects throughout the Auckland/ Northland region for multiple clients including the New Zealand Transport Agency, Rodney, Kaipara, Whangarei, Waitakere, and North Shore District Councils, Ministry of Education, OnTrack (New Zealand Railways) and many other large and small private sector companies.
