Curing Process

One of the most critical elements of a successful concrete project is the curing process as this is when concrete gains its strength.

For proper curing, concrete needs constant moisture over several days. Alternating wetting and drying, excessive temperature changes and exposure to wind all promote cracking. Some other tips are to:

  • Start the curing operation as soon as possible after finishing is complete
  • Ensure continuity of the curing process
  • The ideal curing temperature is a constant 21 degrees with no wind
  • Cure concrete for at least seven days
